Why are people mentioning a second round in June/July? How would that make sense—hitting the same teams again? Why not just do it all at once and start rebuilding morale?

The company can’t keep pouring money into the bottomless EV hole if the vehicles aren’t selling.
Ford isn’t like the government and can’t create money out of nothing. It’s got to come from somewhere.
Maybe some connected cabal has assured the class-B shareholders that EV mandates will be back. But I don’t see it on the horizon. And Ford has lost market share in the places that still have them.
So that whole group will have to go.
Like with anything on sites like this, you’ve got to take it all with a big grain of salt—including what I’m about to say.
Some of the more senior folks in my engineering org feel pretty confident that the restructuring is done. In their chats with execs, the message was that it's over and there aren’t any more layoffs planned.
Also, word is that a few years back there was a similar layoff and they did it all in one go. If that’s how they usually handle these things, then there’s a good chance this really is the end of it.
It could also be to circumvent the mass termination laws in Ontario. The more people you fire at once the longer the notice period/severance payout.
I believe this is not enough, coz MJ team is big compared to others. But it is not fair to be hit on same team so soon. I wish it is other teams
Because that is how Ford operates. It takes time to identify and remove dead weight.
