Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Something is amiss

There were about 100 low performers who were targeted with this plan. Then why send the note to hundreds of people leaders? Makes no sense!!!!

You can tell it is getting ugly.
Used to be it was every couple years
then every year
then twice a year
period doubling
we are in a feigenbaum series
and chaos is what awaits
you know you are doomed when the ceo is shilling his dead cousin as a way to sell vans

it is not low performers.
it is employees on a downward trend
high achiever, achiever and low achiever are gone
Don't know what replaces them
we now have quarterly performance reviews
to identify the downward trend you need more data
good bye 3000 people
very under the table
very true
starts now!
henry would be impressed with the vicious intent

I don't think you understand. Asked boss, they said, no, you are NOT eligible. Only low performers are eligible. I hope this clears it up for you.

Just like all the other id--ts who are saying " what am I waiting for, I can't take this offer, it only applies to losers", they are really in denial and totally unprepared for what is going to happen next.

What is going to happen next is this: same that that happened under Jack the Kn--e Nassar in the early 2000's......literally 1,000's of employees that had either gotten High Achiever or Achiever ratings year after year by the end of this year will suddenly find themselves rated as low under-achieving performers - and on the chopping block.

However, unlike last time, they are offering people a graceful way out (the 9 months' severance and job placement assistance) to avoid legal issues (the fallout, both legally and in moral with Nassar's plan was implemented was epic, and led to his way too early dismissal. He was not CEO for even two full years, I recall). Since they are offering a graceful way out, they are really trying to make it stick.

So, when I wrote the post take the money and run, what are you waiting for it was done with this context in mind. And make no mistake - just because you are suddenly labeled a low performer, doesn't mean you actually are...they are just getting creative to get rid of more people and avoiding controversy and legal issues.

To wrap it all up - don't be surprised, start planning your exit mentally now, and take the money and run when you have that first low performer rating/talk with your LL6 or LL5. Don't fight it, it is not really worth it, especially if you are in your late 30's or 40's

It probably made upper management feel justified in their position (doing something with their time) while scaring the sh!t out of some people (e.g. my co-worker asked if everyone got the note).
