Thread regarding Optum layoffs

From now on I will do only the bare minimum

It's a shame that some of the best people were laid off. My colleague is laid off, even though I don't know anyone who loved his job more and did it more professionally than him.

What is the company trying to tell us?

That it is better for us only to do the bare minimum???

They want profits for stock prices PERIOD. Off the backs of employees and insured lives.

How about you just do the job you are paid to do? Work your 40 hours, do what you are paid to perform, then spend the rest of your time enjoying the money you earned from a job well done. If you feel you are not being valued, go find it working somewhere else? Maybe a different team? Maybe a different employer? Maybe a different career? Don't let corporate America take your joy from you. Start today, look for other opportunities. It's a big world out there, go explore it.

why would you put blood sweat and fears into a toxic us empire cesspool?

I put my blood, sweat and tears in this company almost 20 years. In 2019, we lost our account and was told to go elsewhere and apply. Then we were absorbed. Once we were back under ECS I knew the layoffs were coming. The emails all signified it. I was not going through that again. I met some amazing people and did my very best. I was micromanaged for years and traumatized because they do not value intelligence and hard work. To the very last day I gave my all. That’s who I am but this company wants automaton instead of clinical care. Less for more.
