Thread regarding Fidelity Investments layoffs

No alternatives

I've been trying to leave for over six months and I've had zero luck so far. A few responses, fewer interviews, and just two offers so far, both trying to lowball me to an insulting level. I don't know who can be brave enough to decide to leave when the job market is as messed up as it is now.

Question is a matter of perspective. Fidelity will offer a mediocre paycheck. Markets will potentially offer more. For a cost - in multiple ways. Why not start trading? If you have the mind & desire for it, your own diligence will uncover avenues of entry even grade 1 can access. Maybe a paycheck isnt what you seek. Or who knows maybe prospect of working until death is appealing. Different goals for different poles.

Some food for thought - You can either cry in the storm or dance in the rain. The value of decisions depends upon the courage required to make them.

Best of luck on your path.

We work at Fidelity mostly for the benefits, not base pay. At the other companies who've offered you low salaries, they likely have fewer PTO days

You’ve gotten two offers and haven’t accepted either one? You must still have it pretty good at fidelity then.
