RTO, relocation mandate

Attrition tactic posts are spot on.

Fido should be in news of how they're making lives miserable for their associates for a good part of past 3 years.

2 years at this firm, I've had already had 4 different managers, 3 work locations, 4 teams.

I can't believe but wonder I relocated twice for this firm and after seeing recent posts and "cafeteria chatter" it seems I might be asked about 3rd relocation.

Some of the things I have learned in my short two years here:

  1. Fido chapter leads are aces at being snakes and seem to target people who are "gullible" or more hardworking folks, the kind of people everyone made fun of in highschool.
  1. They target these individuals sincerely want to give their 100% and want to contribute in whatever way possible.
  1. Fido managers are good in knowing who they can trigger with such relocation BS, painting a picture of "how great your contribution is", "how team is appreciating"...
  1. All these talks are just enough to target these vulnerable individuals into thinking they're actually valuable asset, only to eventually realize Fido management is bunch of pricks.
  1. Fido managers will tell you a nice story to make you believe their BS, they'll say how they'd back you up, fight for you..
  1. BUT, they won't give you any raise, relocation packages, nor they'd understand the stress of relocating, sympathize with your, expect you to still continue doing your job while dealing with moving stress.
  1. Grade 8 and above are bunch of wannabe, all they do is credit stealing, badging in office, play favorites with their own kind.

Always plan your next move. While sites like this and the rumor mill sometimes give you a heads up - when it happens you still feel blindsided. Keep your resume, contacts, and skills up to date. Have a plan if the worst happens. Have 6 months of expense money saved if they whack you - you will be good

I would die before i uprooted my life for this firm. Huge disconnect with reality and how things used to be. Get some real leaders Fidelity.

No amount of bonus or relocation is worth enough to play a su-k up and go through with this stress, especially if it's a cross country move.

You'll go through immense stress about moving, possibly go through depression due to leaving all the memories you've built, friends you've made.

You'll be stressed to find the new place, sell old house (if you're home owner), go through the home buying stress AGAIN if you plan to buy, look for new schools for your kids.

Before deciding upon a move, ask yourself:

"Is it fair of freaking Fido managers asking you to uproot your life so many times for, what a bonus"?

In the short term it might seem ideal for you to portray a good employee image.

In the long run, you will never be able to advance in your career here coz these snake of managers clan will know "YOU'RE A SU-K UP"
And your peers won't respect you as well.

If true a great summary of the nonsense. The best thing to do is clear out. Isn't going to get better. Otherwise you've defined yourself as a pawn. You can take advantage of this if they pay for relocation and provide bonuses. Possibly turn that into a promotion path if you can get a manager to advocate. Best play is to be a su-k up. Sorry.
