Thread regarding Fidelity Investments layoffs

My honest assessment of Fidelity

• Fidelity's CEO does not lack integrity but is not a vissionary which is a problem since this moment requires a visionary
• Fidelity is held back by a middle layer of NPC-character-like middle management who contribute nothing but drain the soul energy of people actually getting the work done
• For all the yapping about diversity, most promotions go to mediocre people who look like management
• I definitely do not recommend Fidelity as a place to work unless your of middling intelligence and prefer routine
• I forsee some huge scandals on the horizon for this company because of the staggering level of sloppiness found in many of the BUs not because of malaciousness but because of strategic forethought.

The company also actively seeks to disempower workers by flooding the ranks with temp workers and then dangling the prospect of permanent roles for them if they consistently kiss a-s for years

I can say for sure that Whites are looking elsewhere due to lack of opportunity. Indians only hire and promote their own kind.

All of the L7s above the devs on my team are Indian, but most of the devs on the team are white. Are we cooked?

@an looks like you’re looking for a date at work. Odd and unprofessional comment to make about people you work with.

@kc wasn’t that one guy from china who got all the employees in china fired an L8? L8s usually end up taking the heat for many things up there. Us underlings take blame as getting laid off, too. Not trying to defend them, but there’s way more of us under L7 than who’s L8 so we can’t see their angle. But we sure as he-l feel the after effects. I’m L4 and I can’t even see what’s going on up there. I blame them because everyone else does.

That being said, L8 really isn’t good.

I disagree with the last comment. I was happier as a grade 7 than grade 8. The higher you get, the lower your employee NPS score (when we still had the pulse). Had you not seen that data?

Fidelity is good for grade-8 and above. No real work required—just deliver lengthy lectures, take credit for others' efforts, and enjoy a high salary despite minimal integrity and competence."

@OP

“definitely do not recommend Fidelity as a place to work unless your of middling intelligence”

lol so it’s perfect for someone like you who doesn’t know “you’re” from “your” or “malice” from “maliciousness.”

She didn’t mandate the vaccine.

Positive points for that one.

The required percentage of temp workers is for easy offloading when needed. Those who grind to get converted is because there is such possibility. I heard Capital One doesn't allow temp worker to convert to full0-time. Wondering what prompted them to make such decision.

The NPC comment is spot on.

Also there are zero attractive people at this dump of a company. Just like the middling, low standard approach on intellect and strategic thinking, same goes for the other talent aspects. Thank god dating apps and photo filters are a thing for 99% of these folks. Probably another factor to not introduce competition of any form.
