Thread regarding Fidelity Investments layoffs

Westlake wealth show

Can someone confirm what brokerage and wealth are discussing this week in Westlake?

My GCL asked obviously being the pain, asked us to be in the office, a day after I was asked if I can relocate to Boston from Westlake 😡😡

Can someone confirm what's happening? Why so many people asked to relocate??

I'd second that, it seems just another attrition tactic.

Granted you should also not have teams at 4 /5 locations, but with Ames taking over under Roger there was a major push towards colocating that already saw few enterprise architects get hit.

The chatter is ongoing since two years of a larger cuts but fidelity wants to avoid headlines like last year but making associates lives as miserable as they can.

Weird, even though the parking garage construction is apparently done in Merrimack, many people are still parking in non/parking areas. Is there really room for that?
Let’s go back to more flexible WFH. In this day and age asking people to relocate when everything is and has been on zoom is crazy. But I guess they’re probably trying to get people to quit.

A few levels 5 in Boston were asked to relocate to MMK.

Unsure of timeline, my guess just before / after the seaport WTC is ready which cannot accommodate everyone at the office.

The level 8 and 9 are d-mb as doorknobs so you can't expect them to do better planning.

What specific roles are being asked to relocate and what is a the expectation as to the time you would need to be onsite in Boston ?

Never dare asking why leadership here wants to do something.

Even the leaders have no clue whatsoever, all I have known in my 3 years with this firm is they just want to give you a hard time on purpose so you'll get fed up and quit.

The level 8 and 9 are the worst, they favor their own "Teachers pet" while undermining achievements of actual hard workers.

With that said, SLC and KY are buzzing with relocation BS as well, if these new leaders won't clear the air soon, the pulse survey will be much worse whenever that happens.
