Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

On job search these days

Been seeing a lot of folks saying the same thing lately... job search after getting laid off from Wells Fargo (or any other bank) is moving slow with barely any leads. Some people found jobs at smaller banks with better pay, but most are feeling discouraged. I saw here on layoffs dot come that one person said they didn’t even start looking until months later and only landed a job after three interviews. needless to say, it's rough out there!!!!

there is a lot of talk on how to get resume help and coaching which helped some, but still no luck for many. it's just hard. I feel like i am working harder fixing my resume and learning tools new tools than they ever did working...

if u are over 50 it'll be much harder especially, or if you dont have a college degree-being or u are on disability.

The market’s tight. even for folks with experience. i sometimes get messages on linkedin, recruiters are pinging me but mostly for contract stuff . it’s been pretty discouragng and isolting. i hope things turn around for everyone soon...

Unfortunately the advent on AI is going to make things even more complicated. As a former laid off employee I know how hard it is out here. I wish you all the best.

AND YET - H1Bs are still full steam ahead, with no hint of slowing down.
