Thread regarding Fidelity Investments layoffs

Quarterly broadcast

Is it just me or does anyone else feel our senior leadership is exceptionally bad at public speaking? I thought Harvard business school was supposed to prepare you for things like this. Guess not. So many stutters, “ums”, “ya-know?”, and overall awakward presentations. These are the people that lead our company and it really shows why the s#it show exists.

This literally pushed me into looking into
Abby. I didn’t know she also went to HBS. I’ve always heard people say to go easier on her judgments since she was an art history major. She has an MBA from Harvard. This makes it more understandable why so many sr leaders were critical of her, in town halls.

Who has proper education in Fidelity Tech? From unnamed "universities" in India to political science in America, our tech leaders leads with their amateurish "intuition". It's even more dangerous when these "leaders" are smart, they knows how to navigate without actually learning the first principles on the job. We're left with a bunch of economic buyers with Fidelity credit card and middle men with red tapes : (

I saw a published stat that said 40% of senior leader, at the date of publishing, had liberal arts degrees. Can we really blame them for not being skilled? They lack the appropriate education

I have yet to see someone at the firm who brands themselves as a “leader” to have any leadership qualities.

The attitude comes from the top down and if sr leaders are unskilled, they will only pick worse people than them as reports. One of the “smartest of the d-mb people” options

Never great replacing a leader with 38 years at Fid with one at 39 years!!
Can we get some young blood into these roles? Fid just regurgitates the same leaders around BU's. Time for a change at the top.

Anyone notice how many times Roger said “guys?” Guys, guys, guys, you guys, guys, guys. Kinda funny given that he leads the Women’s erg group.
