Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Hiding Boomers

Always the best to sneak into a huddle room after a meeting in a remote part of campus and see a boomer that earns $300k sitting alone in a dark room in a part of campus that no one is in just chilling.

What would you do if the company didn’t want you to work anymore? Didn’t value your skills or input? Your day is coming too.

We hide from our 35 year old hipo bosses who keep asking stupid questions. Just before we announce our retirement we give them stupid answers and when they implement the stupid answers they derail their careers.

Does anyone mind sharing a good place on campus to take a nap?

Thanks

Hahhaa. That observation mainly applies to the ridiculous Campus. Not only boomers looking to hide away from pretending to be busy for a little tranquility and peace of mind. Place is a joke and had gotten worse.

@ca+1 yes the salaries are that high. Just over 50 cl28 $325k. And yes we are getting a lot more done than you see, just not for this lousy company. Thanks for the paycheck though. lol

@ay+1 No, salaries are nowhere near that high. Rankings are systematically lowered for the 50+ such that a CL28/29 makes less on an inflation adjusted basis in their 50’s than they made in their 40’s. Please don’t take this point lightly. This is the number one way that ExxonMobil runs their golden handcuff bait-and-switch scheme.

Why not? I’m in the same boat at 45. Just waiting for time, no motivation to do more than bare minimum, terrible management and fu---d up processes. What else would you do? (I’ve enough money to retire, by the way, just want a bit more fun money at lowest effort possible.)

You are all stupid … the pay range for boomer at cl28/29 is 325-450k and if it is a remaining dinosaur STP cl30/31 then goto $375k-475k not counting annual bonuses. That is why you think boomers are stupid when actually they are playing 4-dimensional chess on you wannabe relevants that think you know more than an AI chatbot…which you most certainly don’t.
