This was probably about the NOC. I feel awful for the folks who were eligible for the VRP and didn't take it because they believed their positions were safe and are now faced with very uncertain futures.. My advice would be to update your Resumes' and be prepared... The new VP was let go Monday after the Level 2 team was all let go Friday, same day as the VRP folks. I hope that things turn around for all the people that are left. They are reorganizing the remaining teams and continuing to downsize.
I’m afraid it’s too late for a union. Maybe there would be something we could do if all f/s and osp stood together.
I won't lie, mastec moving into the FS area is scary. As a tech I'd be concerned, Uniomn or not
I'm part of a team that was let go. I have seen multiple people like this—just package me up and I'm gone, with a smile on their face. When the VRP came out they were to afraid to take it. Now that the layoff and severance also came, the people that could not secure another internal position are all depressed and frustrated. They now remember they have rent or mortgage to pay and kids to raise.
OP if you really want to leave, then just go. I doubt a few months of severance is really holding you here. Don't hope for your coworkers to be laid off. I consider many of my coworkers to be friends.
My suggestion to everyone is to look for another job and fast. This company is falling apart. Internal teams that should never be outsourced to another country are getting outsourced. Most of the engineering teams and support teams under them have been outsourced. This company is being ran by a bunch of clowns. LR being one of them. Many of the SVPs and VPs below him as well. All the keys have been turned over to contractors and other vendors after we talked about how we are against that. Total clown show.
While the stock market is getting ready to hit new highs, this pos stock is trying its hardest to hit new lows. And it's all because its ran by a bunch of clowns that have no idea what they are doing. They are going to continue downsizing and outsourcing until they cant anymore.
