How come some go straight to PIP while others start on structured coaching plan as first step?

How long is the PIP at ibm ? Is there a range?
It depends on how quickly that unit leader needs to get costs off the books.
They don’t go by white straight male now that trump is in power. It’s still over 40 and mostly white but females too now
White straight male over 40 = PIP. IBM views and judges and hires/fires based on age, skin color, race etc. Sadly.
Local legal requirements very from region to region. Eg US employee are ‘at will’ but EU employees have rigorous employment laws and rights. However a pip should never be a surprise.
