Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

To C-Suite or HR whoever it may be , my 2 cents

I know you guys visit this and blind regularly, by now you must have seen the employee by now and you must have noticed the morale is at all time low.

You just can turn this around and come clean and even make yourselves very good name.

Just say, we have seen the employee survey and we realised the culture needs to change , so we are going back to hybrid setting of 3x8, which will be the perfect blend in collaboration and productivity, from 07/01/2025 onwards.

T is a one trick pony. Layoffs every day, every week, every month and every year. The SBC clown show has nothing else they understand. Process improvement - no fu--ing way. Actually organizing systems to be customer and employee centric - No fu--ing way. Removing the incompetence at levels 3 and above- no fu--ing way. Therefore the sh-t show and cluster continues because the competition is even more fu--ing clueless.

The goal is to get headcount down by 35% in another 3 years.

Expect reporting to increase, work conditions to deteriorate, expectations to increase, wages to taper, and jobs to be culled to AI.

@ah you are expecting the leadership that blew through what $60Billion dollars, buying white elephants for humongous losses in money and time resources, sc--wed you in the rear on the stock, constantly LIE just about everytime he opens that stupid mouth. Then there is Jr Vest.. same lying piece of (rap..

OP - There is a major fault to your post. You seem to assume that the C Suite and board care about the employees right now. They do not. They still want to shed a significant number of employees without paying severance. Until that magic number is reached you can expect 1920s work conditions. Remember, Stankey has never been able to really grow revenue organically. He is a one-trick pony. He only knows how to cut expense. So, let the beatings continue until morale improves.

We have to provide a business reason and answer the 5 W's for any decision we make. I think it is reasonable to expect the same when the company forces us to drag laptops to a middle school desk environment for even 1 day a week. There are zero valid business reasons that outweigh the gains realized from less leased space and less owned real estate. If you gave every employee $10k to build their own home office, you would still come out ahead on cost.

Young workers will not work for a 5x8 time tracked dinosaur company. They want WFH. Good luck!

They could care less my friend. Stank said it himself, they want more young workers . I was let go because I was a few months away from rule of 75 . Many people were targeted especially the ones who got RTO letters. In our org ZERO virtual office people were cut. One poor lady from our org was brought to Dallas from way way up north and then cut a few months later. I think in one of the severance letters we got it even says, we tried to meet numbers with voluntary departures but were unable. Why not let all the H1B’s go ? Because it’s all about the cheapest labor. How many offices turned into little India in the last four years ? They want to talk about ethics and culture? What ethics and culture has the C suite communicated? You can’t talk about ethics and culture UNLESS you lead by example. Their example seems to have been, let’s see how many senior members we can kn--e in the back. That’s ok , you reap what you sow… I smell another Kodak moment is rapidly approaching.
