Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Lingering anger

Months after quitting and I still get mad thinking about AT&T. All the lying, the backstabbing, the stupid corporate buzzwords, the lack of basic respect for employees. Wasted years of my life there. Only good thing is now I warn everyone away from that toxic dump.

AT&T use cheap tactics to mark their employees under compliance issues even if they work for 8 hours or more daily. And it should be known to everyone. Everyone should know how they hide office presence requirements and then terminate under cobc to save some money.

yep just hope future employees come to this site and see how att treats its employees.

run far away from the cesspool and don't give them your private information because they will sell it to the dark web.

@ds They know many people were doing more than 8 hours job and their manager know that their employees were anytime available, day and night people worked. They intentionally didn’t publish 3 hours or 8 hours office presence because they know people use system as per their convenience in lack of proper communication. And they take advantage of it by putting them under Cobc, they should terminate supervisors for not communicating it properly. Instead they targeted their employees who always follow their supervisors.

@dw no one is escaped, if AT&T is doing wrong with their employees , then these lawsuits for data breaches, frauds are well taking care of this company. AT&T is thinking they are saving money by terminating employees. But they are heavily paying at other places. If your employees and customers are not happy, your business will shutdown one day.

@dt You mean the SBC “Salute and Execute” military model… something out of the pre-divestiture 1970’s Bell System culture… That is what you consider “great”. You must be suffering from Stockholm Syndrome.

Management wanted to “make an example” out of some targeted employees.
Karma will make a “better example out of them” when the time comes.

At&t management MUST be held accountable!
All the bs about targeting employees for made-up COBC violation, is to be able to just use it as a tool, as it fits them, for their convenience.
When employees work late nights, early mornings, over weekends - they do it as part of their job and when their purpose is over, HR and the lousy management will conveniently deface the same employees and kick them out - just to save few thousands from their owed money so that they can pay themselves millions when it’s there time to go - which is still OK if business needs so require but tagging them as COBC violators and denying them of their Eligible severance and unemployment benefit is EVIL.
Stankey and the involved management/HR should be shamed publicly. Fire them without rehire and severance and unemployment benefit and their millions in stocks.
Kick them in their behind - they really are the most deserving!

"Comparing SBC culture to cancer… priceless!"

From Meriam Webster: "the spread of a disease-producing agency (such as cancer cells) from the initial or primary site of disease"

Sounds like a perfect description of Stankey's culture creation to me.

Be thankful you’re free. The SBC culture that metastasized throughout what became T hurt so many people. The trauma is real. Seek counseling but move on with your life because the cancer has been removed from your life so don’t let it linger in your head.

The anger is only you hurting yourself, friend. Remember forgiveness has nothing to do with letting the offender off the hook. It has everything to do with acceptance and freeing yourself to move on. The past can't hurt you now. Let it go.

Trust me, there are better things to have angst over. Free your mind. Let It Go! You are the only one holding yourself captive at this point.

If you quit, then move on and stop thinking about it. Yeah you can have regret, it is unfortunate how many of us get treated, passed over, overworked, etc. it really isn’t much different than any other company you may work at. Some of careers, others just have jobs. Most have jobs and think it’s a career. Those people get bitter.

I used to be angry until I realized that I was angry at defective people that were bullied as kids and grew up to be id--t leaders. Now I just laugh and collect a paycheck for minimal work and have a good time at work. They can’t intimidate or cause even the smallest worry in me because I realized they are mere flies flying in circles landing on their own bull$hit.

I just got laid off after doing nothing for the last 3 years. Took them long enough. Now, I’ll become a contractor with Quadgen and do nothing…
