Too many layoffs at T to do anything else. I’ve seen too many peers end up in tough spots because they lived paycheck to paycheck, thinking the next one was guaranteed. Nothing is guaranteed anymore. Make sure to protect your future while you still have a say in it.

YNAB is You Need A Budget. It's an app.
“ …have put off buying cars”
The number one wealth ki-ler of the middle class. If you are one of of those people that says things like “well, I’m always going to have car payments” — you need to reevaluate everything. That car payment money can make you wealthy, even if conservatively invested.
No one cares what you drive. Buy yourself a nice used Toyota or Honda with cash, or pay it off real quick and drive it until the wheels fall off.
Excellent advice. This "Union Slug" maxed out the 401k match and contributed more to my 401k for the last 2 decades. I'm going to leave this clown show debt free and with over a million dollars for retirement in a few months.
RTO is and was never a concern as I had go show up, rain, sleet or shine.
The best part is that I will be 55 in a few months.
Life is good.
I am saving a lot of money after canceling my membership at a golf club now that T has taken WFH away.
Very ignorant statement, vapid actually and shows how classless you are when people are talking about and worried about losing their jobs.
Another good app for budgeting is copilot. Only for Apple products for now though. It has really helped me pay down debt and see where I was throwing money away
@a5 what is YNAB?

I have put off buying cars even when I had the cash. This place has been a constant risk of layoffs.
Get YNAB , helped me immensely from getting out of the pay check cycle and get months ahead of my expenses, and I have just started job here , 3 years .
That’s always sound advice!
