Even if a plane experiences a 'hard landing', it should not split apart after falling from 650 ft of elevation. Body integration issues since 2010. The issues were so bad that Vought had to be bought out of the Vought-Alenia partnership by BA.
In my opinion, the 787 is a POS clap-trap. I never want to fly in one.
I allege a number of contributing factors:
- Too many gaps at body integration junctions. Shims/fillers can only fix so much.
- When the battery caught on fire for the 787 Ethiopian Air plane at Heathrow, the first responder stated that the fire burned hotter and longer than a normal fire. The woven graphite and resin from the composite body burned like a chemical fire.
- EVs are not reliable. I have seen EV cars stop at a light or gate, sit idle, then the engine dies. I wonder if the 787 battery contributed to the loss of power. I will always buy ICE vehicles. I will never buy an EV.
Horrific.
