You’re an id--t and clearly don’t understand the difference between “manager” and “supervisor”. AT&T doesn’t operate any different than most companies.

Getting let go has nothing to do with hours in the office. That is just the phony excuse they are peddling. If you don’t get severance, call a lawyer.
“I work more than 8 hours. 6 in the office 4 from home. I have the receipts.”
Which department/org? There is going to be an opening down the road and I am looking for an internal move.
I work more than 8 hours. 6 in the office 4 from home. I have the receipts.
“ but if any employees need to be directly told they were expected to put in a bare minimum of 8 hours/day and 40 hours/week, they deserve to be terminated.”
Problem is you don’t understand basic thing still arguing. Who said 8 hours or 40 hours is not done? We are talking here about who and when passed this bare minimum requirement from office?
Manager ? That is the most over used term in the business. If you don't "manage" people you are not a manager. That is just used by at&t to skirt labor laws. If you were titled "manager" and you had no direct reports you were a grunt...
" but if any employees need to be directly told they were expected to put in a bare minimum of 8 hours/day and 40 hours/week, they deserve to be terminated"
You do not understand how management employment works. Managers are supposed to work until the needs of the business are satisfied. The expectation is that the manager would work at least 8 hours a day, on average. That means some days the manager might only work 6 hours, but on other days he might work 10.

10X, 100X, 1,000X, 1MX....and not just visited upon them individually, but their whole blood line...a generational curse.
“few supervisors didn’t pass the message how many hours presence required in office. And HRBP didn’t send it what is RTO,”
The grammar in this post was difficult to get through, but if any employees need to be directly told they were expected to put in a bare minimum of 8 hours/day and 40 hours/week, they deserve to be terminated.
Everyone is working more than 8 hours, few supervisors didn’t pass the message how many hours presence required in office. And HRBP didn’t send it what is RTO, many places still 3 days office which caused more confusion whether they will wait for 8 hours presence when it will be 5days. Some team already their team member terminated under cobc, so those team sitting more than 8 hours to not fall in trap. Overall idea to implement this cheap tactic is to not pay severance package and let DOL know its not lack of work. But abusing some one who really worked more than 8 hours is not a good practice.
and yet you remain
It's not just age. Many of us older folks make too much money by their rules. They can pay the nubies and the offshore folks pennies on the dollar. They save alot of by blowing up folks from Ameritech with less than 12 months for their pension to vest.
Absolutely agree with you.
I too was let go, along with few others, that I know, who worked late nights for deployments and maintenance.
It is very shameful that at&t has to stoop down to such low levels and target faithful employees, just to save some money, so that in return the ceo’s and upper management can “pay themselves” millions in stocks and salary.
But, like you said, universal law of physics and philosophy -
“to every action, there will be an equal and opposite reaction”
“as you sow, so shall you reap”
They will not be able to run/hide too far, especially after the anguish they have caused their employees and their families.
"I stopped reading there. You are ignorant and need to educate yourself."
You should try reading a book...
The Jungle by Upton Sinclair.
“Is a human rights violation”
I stopped reading there. You are ignorant and need to educate yourself.
Not counting the endless hours a person put in from home or in the car on meetings after they have left the office for eight hours is a human rights violation. That is not even counting the hours I had to come back to the office to do maintenance during the hours of 11pm to 5am. Don't bother responding trolls. I put in MORE than 8 hours and the reports showed that, and was let go. If you don't think age has something to do with it, you are delusional. I have real doubts this will be resolved here, but the people who are complicit and read the little script will have a much bigger person to answer to. The pain you cause people will be revisited to you 10 fold.
