Thread regarding Fidelity Investments layoffs

What's the Smithfield office like?

I've been asked to move there. Is it a thriving office that will last for years to come, or is it on its way out relative to Boston, Westlake, and Durham?

I work in the Smithfield office. Not sure where all the traffic convos come from. I've never had to wait to leave or wait to go in. 900 is gorgeous as far as corporate offices go and 500 is old and outdated but it's still fine.

900 is filled with depressed associates with lifeless eyes and people posturing in the hallways holding their laptops trying to appear superior. Oh and you’ll wait in traffic for 30 mins just to get off campus. And there’s not enough restrooms to support the building at capacity. But who cares….

If they are offering you relocation package, that is probably a good sign.

If not, then you are probably going to be let go in 6-8 months.

Remote roles are definitely not coming back.

It’s an attriction tactic at its best.

First 5 days connect week

Then 2 weeks into office

And now unnecessary asking people to uproot their lives.

Why is Fidelity just moving people randomly between SLC, Boston and RI? There’s no rhyme or reason to it it seems

Want to trade? Lol.

This is the OP. I am a remote worker in a state without a Fidelity office. Most of my team is in Smithfield and Boston.
