Splunk was last year's shiny new toy. The ELT were had and GS has rode off into the sunset, and good for him. He saw which way the wind was blowing. Cisco has ZERO ideas on how to integrate Splunk into the rest of its junk.
Did not see any mention of Splunk in that article at all, even though it skims over the entirety of Cisco's offerings.
Coincides with what I see in internal communications - literally nothing about Splunk anymore.
My theory is Cisco regrets the purchase and will unload Splunk within three years. Crazy timing...Cisco ran up a tab to buy an obsolete logging company just as the entire industry was about to go crazy on AI.
@ay hope Cisco does not make a mistake of buying whatever that guy is selling by licking J2... I thought cloud solutions are past and future is AAAAAAAaaaaaaIIIIIiiiiiiii :-)
@ae they are trying to get acquired by Cisco ...if u watch his previous interviews he said Aviatrix is like Wiz!! go effing figure
If you guys haven't realized it - this is the playbook that G2 and his minions are executing to:
last but not the least comparing him to the likes of Nadella, Pichai, or whoever - who have come from the grass roots - understand technology and transitions well and not just BS on social media and are just pure marketers - that is just bizzare.
Watch his interviews - he just repeats what some of the well known industry leaders articulate! A conman and a real good one at that!
product innovation is exciting but...
Cisco is a blue chip, slow growth dividend company.
Cisco is the plumbing distributor
Every single new "innovation" Jeetu pushes to market both cannibalizes and fragments Cisco's existing revenue streams.
There will be a slow rise and then a sudden crash
“This is Cisco’s Satya Nadella moment,” said Steve Mullaney, the former CEO of networking startup Aviatrix as well as a former Cisco executive, in an interview. “This is what they need in these times. You need a product leader, and that’s Jeetu. I agree with his phrase that Cisco can become unrecognizable. It’s been all there, all along, waiting for Jeetu to bring it out.”
who is this Steve? What new products did J2 create? why so much drama .. may be need to wait and see.. i guess
Lol. Even the code graphic shows antiquated Hungarian notation. Keeping 40 years behind the times as usual. Seems about on-brand for that clown.
