Sleepy Ward is retiring in July! Employees will be sending him off in style, starting with an Ice Cream social that even Ben & Jerry would be proud of. Festivities are being finalized but these are the games and activities the retirement committee has so far:
- The Stare, Speak and Pause game. A challenging team building activity where orchestrators pair up and battle it out to see who can stare the longest without blinking, pause the longest without speaking and speak the slowest while saying absolutely nothing. (Immediate disqualification if you say something logical).
- Pin the Feature on the Donkey. Let’s send Ward off on a high note for leading a project that has the most features in the history of Agile projects. In this simple game, Ward stands still with a blank stare and we all just pin features to him. If Ward blink or makes a sound, you win! This is a timed event and there may not be a winner.
- Puppet Pairs. In this game you pair up with someone. One person plays Ward and says very little, and the second person speaks for him. But there’s a twist. You must speak for him with the goofiest face imaginable. Just like his real-life puppet pairs! Extra points for saying nothing.
- A special summer appearance by Santa Claus. What can be more whimsical than a visit by Samta in the summer! Santa will be dressed in a goofy wig and wielding a bad sounding guitar. Is it Santa or Jeremy?! The room will be all smiles as Santa arrives on a little red choo choo train. Don’t forget to hold out your hands because Santa will be tossing thousand dollar bills into the crowd to pay homage to Ward for all the funding he has received for the costliest project ever! The Ticket to Nowhere Project!
- Photo op time. Get your phones ready as Ward hops on the little red choo choo train as Santa and Ward exit the building. But don’t be shy. Throw your half eaten ice cream cones at them as the train travels in circles looking for the exit.
