@an Its not closed. It will be eventually, but for now, it is open, albeit with less than 50% of staff remaining.
About 450 people downsized, during employee appreciation week. Last year it was 250. Just in case anyone was wondering how "appreciation" is trending in the minds of the executives in Hudson Yards. Maybe next year they'll shoot for 1000.
@eh WEC = West End Center DS in Winston-Salem NC
I have been here over a decade and no idea what WEC is. It’s not typically known so you are giving yourselves away or we just have on troll in here.
Any in Corporate Properties?
Does he know it yet or is he on vacation?
The best guy on our team, by far, someone who understands things and helps out everyone else on our team, was let go because he was remote.
Boise at 3033 got annihilated yesterday, looks like about 90% were downsized. There are still some survivors at 877, but probably not for long.
I wondered! Pretty rude during Employee Appreciation Week. Appreciate you, Buh-bye!
+1 (Emp Appreciation Week Mgr)
Reason: Ran out of stale donuts
@ar I heard it was about 100 people displaced from WEC today and ~300 remain.
The rest of us will "collaborate" with our cube walls as we always have until the Happy Head Hatchet comes for us.
Who's feeling super appreciated?
My team is at WEC and half of my team was let go today due to location strategy. Majority of the ones let go have 15 years plus. It’s so hard to see people let go who are great people and wonderful to work with. Especially when you have worked together for many years. Today really su-ked!!
We lost someone really good from this. RTO works guys! No more inferior experiences!
Won't be remote, unless you're an executive. If HY thinks that torment could even get one person to quit, they'll demand office time.
@ar lol yeah I work at WEC too…open and operational with a skeleton crew…can’t imagine they’ll keep those of us left here too long…prob transition us to Center or remote until we get let go.
I work in WEC (non data center employee) and will be heading there tomorrow. While some were let go today in WEC:
WEC IS STILL OPEN AND OPERATIONAL.
Winston Salem closed. Many people gone.
Risk Technology, given months of notice.
WEC still here. Remote
WEC people in WIM ops
Hi. It’s, um, Gary.
All 200 of them?
WEC folks gone in tech
That's truly unfortunate. Boise is a great town and we had some really wonderful people there. Just as nice as could be. They'll be replaced by a bunch of useless foreigners or highly compensated new Yorkers. That's great. 😐
No layoffs in the junk mail department (marketing), unfortunately.
Boise service center is gone. Laid off the part 50 of us or so finally.
@a3 and in 2025, this kind of thinking still exists!?! Shows just how backward these mo--ns really are. Because someone can't drive and sit in a damn building with people they don't even know, let's fire them! What a bunch of clowns.
I work with someone affected. The reason was that they were remote and not close enough to any offices to come in.
