Thread regarding TIAA (TIAA-CREF) layoffs

Mid year reviews

Any chance there will be significant amount of layoffs/pressure for people who are “underperforming “?

I read a stat recently from Harvard Business Review that said that employees are only productive 3 hours a day. More people who be laid off at the executive level.

Agree with @a4

But also want to point out that they really can’t afford to cut folks via mid year right now like was done rarely but a few times in the past.

If your mid year was below expectations then you have some time to improve.

If your manager just doesn’t like you and gave to a bad mid year then maybe try and seek a role elsewhere with the company before being given a bad year end review.

From my understanding TIAA wont fire you for a bad mid year review, it’s the end year review that you should be worried about. If they give you constructive feedback or a negative review that doesn’t mean you’re gonna get fired, but it does mean you still have time to turn things around and improve
