Footprint Reductions 2023

Thinking some sites will be shut next year.

We have a big old building with nobody working in it.

I have decided to jump ship if I make it past RIF season.

I recommend EVERYONE consider the same.

Nothing new here. Footprint reduction has been going in for several years with a 50% reduction goal. Just look at the closure of Alberqueue, Redmond, Tuscon,, Minn
They built a new factory in Mexicali, etc. Torrance is probably next

Install solar panels and get of the grid. By the way! They just moved all American division Puerto Rico. It’s gonna save them $500 million in three years. If I named the wrong company, somebody will state which one really moved.

I currently have a couple of job interviews. If I get hired by anyone of them, I will have my two week notice in and leave this Honeywell for good.

I can't speak for the OP but for me when I realized what was happening at Honeywell I started looking for a new job immediately, however it does take time to find a decent one.
I did not do my due diligence taking the Honeywell job and I am paying the price now, I do not want to do that again (though in truth it could not be much worse). Looks like I won't have time now though, I know I am in the next RIF.

@OP Why would you wait to jump ship if you make it past RIF season?

Volunteer and get the package.

That's what I recommend.

The Tempe 6 floor building is long gone.
Already torn down and new building almost completed.

Really old news.

OTOH, for Aero, product lines are always under consideration to be moved or are already scheduled.

HON doesn't want US workers, just US taxpayer monies.

…. Which AZ building are you referring to?

I think the OP was referring to the 6 floored Tempe office building

Duh. As long as there as US workers, sites will be closed. When the US labor force is down to about 5K, the remaining sites are probably safe.

You're right on. Everyone wants to go greener, which means trying to get off fossil fuels.
Regenerate a lot of methane gas. When using the bathroom. I could see them using this type of gas to heat the building.

They will move out of high buck regions. Buildings that have asbestos, and our super funded sites. They will get rid of them.

Taxpayers will get the bill to clean up the super funded site. Probably sell the building really cheap. So they can get all those taxed right offs, and a new owner. Definitely will tear down these old buildings. The land will definitely be worth a lot of money.

In Arizona, Honeywell sold a building. Now it's going to be an Amazon warehouse. It also was a super funded site.

The super funded site will be taken care of by the federal government. The taxpayers will get stuck with the bill.
