Did they change the policy for new managers to call you at home off the clock, constantly? If they have to call hourly associates why are they in managment?

You should know buy now,Sams managers unlock, lock the front door only!its time for the home office to replace the fat/lazy key holders with no talent/skills!
Sounds like the club I work at 6343 management will call you or text you in the first thing they will say can you do me a favor we had someone to call out any way you can come in and cover for their shift! Which is against company policy because you're working off the clock talking on the phone and you're not being paid for it.
One time I got written up for calling another associate and asking a question regarding the job. They told me next day don't call associates on their days off. You can get written up for that! But it's okay when they do it lol it's also double standard when management walks by associates they see standing around talking and they say are y'all having a party why are you guys not working that is stealing time! But it's okay when management does it lol another double standard management will have meetings and say we need to be professional and no gossiping in the club and we need to work together. But management does the same thing! Another double standard management allows certain associates that are lazy to continue to be lazy and good associates have to work hard and if you complain about the lazy associate to management there going to simply say we'll look into it which means nothing is going to happen! And they will continue to use the good associate to get everything done! And don't be surprised if management doesn't call you on your lunch asking where are you at why are you not in your area? But then when you call management with a question why they're on lunch they don't even answer it they'll send you right to voicemail. Lol management will know you and be your best friend when corporate office is coming and they need to clean the club and make it look nice before corporate office comes!
I dont answer my phone if it is work. if they text me, I dont respond. Its my day off and they need to figure it out without me
@OP Um... I worked for Sams for over 30 years.. I stopped answering my phone a year or two in... if they left a message I wanted to respond to I would but most times I just was not around to get the message even when I was right beside the phone.... its still against the rules... its your fault if you answer the call.....
If management doesn’t start the phone call conversation off with- I’m sorry to be bothering you on your time off . But I will put in a time adjust for you time ( inwhich is Atleast :15 ) You need to get that person to do a time adjustment for you or you put one in when your back to work . As an hourly associate it is against company POLICY to work off the clock. It seems minor but it could come back to bite you in the A zz if you were to do it yourself one day . And all they would say is it’s a policy and you took CBL’s showing it and you should know better .
This happens all the time and I was told in my review I need to be available after hours for calls and I am not even getting paid. Wage and hour issue! I have reported this to HR and they are the biggest joke. HR people are like rejected admins.
