@pg Because at the rate it is improving, it will be imperative to survival. It could hit a wall, but it can already do quite a lot today and doesn't seem to be any signs of slowing down.

The amount of datacenter and energy usage that it's going to require is a big bottleneck. They can't keep up with the demand. Also, hundreds of billion in investment is going in, but it hasn't realized the profitable range it needs to justify. The ROI isn't there yet, so this could be a big blocker too if investors don't start seeing significant returns soon.

Those things aside, if it continues at this pace, it's going to really change everything, and already is in a lot of ways. With that said, revenue growth is accelerating, so it may stand a chance. The feeding frenzy doesn't seem to be abating yet. It's pretty crazy how meta is offering literally hundreds of millions compensation for the top AI researchers, with rumors of 1 billion for one person. Google just paid over 3 billion just to get the top 40 or so people from Windsurf when the deal with OpenAI fell apart. It's crazy times in Silicon Valley.

Why is there such a propaganda effort for everyone to use AI?
Anytime there is an irrational push toward something, I pause and seek more information.
