Not sure when it happened, but Exxon doesn’t feel the same anymore. People barely talk, meetings feel cold, and there’s no sense of team left. It used to have some heart, now it’s just work and worry. The energy is just completely drained. You can tell folks are checked out.

The hyper focus on shareholder value changed everything.
What shocked me is the way GO&S is treating outgoing retiring employees. There is no planning or thoughtfulness to a multi decade career. Maybe a cup cake at the end of a normal team meeting. And they don’t even reach out to their prior home BL (Projects, UPST , etc) to celebrate and frankly give some sign we actually care about careers
Straight up 90’s MBA, strip for parts, offshore the labor, line exec’s pocket’s operation. Heritage Exxon had integrity. Sharp capital allocators, but with integrity. Current version is just a thousand garbage people at the top picking the pockets of everyone from the employees to the shareholders. Utterly gross
Once Darren took the helm and really got his hooks into the company that's when it all really started going downhill. Now I think the strategy appears to be to gradually become India's newest NOC.
Since Exxon destroyed XTO nothing was the same at Permian.
It truly is dreadful, no camaraderie at all
