Working at AT&T lately feels like walking on eggshells. Managers hover over everything and certain folks seem to get singled out for no clear reason. This leads to tense meetings and results in expectations that feel totally out of touch with reality. It's absolutely exhausting.

It’s hard to have any sympathy for whiners that just complain and don’t have the motivation to do something about the situation they are complaining about. If you don’t like it, leave. No one is making you work here.
I spend more time writing status reports than doing work. But that's what they now pay me for.
There is a difference between accountability and just plain wrong metrics being used to literally cost SOME people their jobs, while others skate by and never seem to make it to the office.
Some people are busting ar-e and still it isn’t good enough. Toxic workplace.

Sometimes micromanagement is required, otherwise people don’t respond on teams as they are doing their personal works. Due to such employees others who are genuinely busy also suffer.

Accountability starts at the very top. Obviously, that is completely nonexistent here.
