Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Jobs Posted the day after PDC

Just to show how fixed this whole re-org was in the first round, I saw five jobs I was qualified for posted the day after the PDC deadline at the Pasadena refinery. I called my rep and asked if I could apply, and he said no. It was past the deadline.

Managers were protecting their friends and their favorites. Some of us let go never had a chance.

Looking back, getting left standing and leaving the company might be one of the best things that has happened to me. I think Chevron will be a miserable place to work for awhile.

I also think they will be asking people to come back in about a year. They would have to pay me more than they were paying me when I was kicked to the curb.

@OP what a timely post. I learned yesterday of an HR “Advisor” who recently skated in to Corp Affairs as an advisor to LD. Remember Corp Affairs wasn’t in scope so this self righteous person was manage moved without the position being posted. Her reporting line is not tied to LD so don’t try to make sense of this via Outlook. My point is, unless you toot your own ho-n about a bunch of BS, you’re gone. Get out while you can with some sort of dignity.

Let me guess, you're late 20's Early 30's with a degree? You think you're the sh-t, but your bosses and Rep have basically let you know, that you are not hot sh-t, and not a commodity in their Org.

Lots of skills atrophy and cultural decay among the Chevron workforce.

Not shocked to see Chevron looking to source some outside blood. Probably something that they should have done years ago.

I was selected for a position in phase 1 and I am thankful to get a role. However, I agree with you working at chevron is going to be much worse in the future. Full Return to office in Houston is scheduled for Jan 2026 because the new floors will be completed in hou150. We are being told to create documentation for our jobs do we can train the Engine, therefore the Katie’s will continue.
I am glad I am getting closer to retirement but I still have more years to work and don’t expect to surf out on the AEOI wave anytime soon. It will be a layoff to a new employer.
I feel badly for the younger people that I am talking to because they realize Chevron is not a life long employer anymore. Sad to think Chevron ELT does not want people for human energy anymore
