Gotta love the, “lazy Americans” comments. Tell me again, which country has the largest wealth and economy in the world? American put in more hours per worker than nearly anywhere in the world beside the forced labor in communist countries.
Top union pay in Bloomington x 2 years = $167k so that's not bad
The only reason you have 2 years
surplus pay is because you get paid $2-$4/hour less than other employees that are in other union contracts with same/similar job title. So stop bragging about the 2 years pay.
Lazy Americans don't want to work. And they can't figure out why AT&T isn't doing so well.

That's why I said many of us want to be laid off BEFORE the end of this contract.

Many of us here in Bloomington actually WANT to be laid off before the end of our current contract which ends in about 8 months because we'll get up to TWO years pay as a termination package thanks to our union, the CWA. Of course readers of this will naturally be jealous, envious or in disbelief or denial however we recipients will be laughing endlessly. So bring it on! Lay us off! Hope the OP is right!
