I’m very curious about the reasons behind the quiet rise in stock prices these past few days. I suspect insiders might be deliberately driving up the price so they can profit big when the stock crashes after the earnings report. The company’s stock turnover rate isn’t high, so it might not take much capital to push up the price. (This is pure speculation, let’s see in August.)

@T9, the president of sales keeps bringing more of this teradata pals over into OT. It's like a scam. He brought one over for 4 months to give him a temp fake role until his start up job happened. Why were they all dumped from teradata?
@t0 President of sales and VP enablement came from Teradata. Not exactly a success story.
Bad news delay. Q3 earnings were well below what was promised + the company stated during that earnings call they expected FY25 to close below expectations. They gave reasons: Tarrifs, cloud contracts requiring longer commitments customers need more time to manage, plus some other made up stuff. They also announced the augmented business plan of more layoffs, focusing on AI, and other actions to basically try to get investors to accept that the company hasn't followed the promised post MF acquisition path due to factors outside the company's control.
Now they have to report a 4th Q and an overall FY whereby we lost customers in the very business units that were to not only be sustaining but growing. They need something BIG to announce. Can't keep pointing to external factors for the third year as to why the company is losing ground. Can Mark be thinking all they have to do is underscore AI again?
The real issue is they were counting on forever maintenance through existing contracts to go on forever or at least until the current c suite retired. Mark brought in / added the position of President of Sales 2 years ago, but they - Todd Cione - are failing if results are the barometer.
So what is next? More enablement, more inspection seems to be the "answer" for FY26. Everything comes down to selling. Every other org is in place to support selling. It looks like each of Mark's directs are hosting the earnings call in August. So none of them are getting axed.
@OP
I think you are correct, some announement is more likely.
Otherwise they would not have delayed releasing results. Something is up for sure.
Big announcement coming?
Its getting a bump because the market makers of the stock are buying it to meet their requirements - very little market demand. You can see if on the tape.
They could do it by proxy, but its highly unlikely. Its getting a bump since investors like AI, but it will go down in August if earnings don't meet expectations.
Insiders generally cannot short their own stock.
AI says:
No, corporate insiders are generally prohibited from short-selling their own company's stock. While insiders can legally buy and sell shares of their company's stock, they cannot engage in short selling, which involves borrowing and selling shares with the expectation that the price will fall. This prohibition is in place to prevent insiders from profiting from negative news or events before the public is aware, and to avoid creating a conflict of interest.
So the "insiders" can short the stock once it plummets with the FY2025 report...pretty basic stock trading strategy.
So what you’re alleging is that “insiders” are pushing the price up to profit on bad news in Q4 results ? Why would any “insiders” do that honestly you do not have a clue
