@a7 you shouldn't be coy and not state the obvious - they are Indian! That's a real problem in the US -not speaking truth to power. A lot of these Indian CEOs are mediocre at best, but they like puff themselves up and make everyone think that they have superior intelligence because they have MBAs, PhDs, graduated from MIT, Harvard, IIT etc. Baloney ! They are just on an ego trip. Alvind is garbage and Krabanaugh just cooks the books at IBM. But, the one to watch is the guy running Microsoft - he sees the writing on the wall, keeps his hands on the pulse of the industry and maintains control of his numbers (he does layoffs early too). Keeping ahead of the game, maintaining focus and being ahead of the competition is the smart thing to do.
Spreading yourself thin in too many directions, relying on accounting gimmicks, fake ads and consultants and not being able to make your numbers is what gets companies and people into trouble sooner or later. Nobody's perfect ! (not even the guy running Microsoft, but he's beaten the odds so far).

Wonder why all these tech companies have a fascination with CEOs of a certain type?
