The job is exhausting. I have worked as a teller, service manager, personal banker, business banker and branch manager but I can’t seem to get past this spot. It’s been 10 years. Who do I need to get on my knees for?

Banking has no real retail future. All done on internets. Whom walks into banks except peoples with no internet servicings? Get out on tĥe dõuble!!
I worked in branch retail banking for 7 years. More politics than any other department. Taking the next step from a Branch Manager to District Manager is sometimes just being in the right place at the right time. Be open to moving/relocate if you really want to take that move. Keep performing at top level in a level 4 or 5 branch. Go to every volunteer opportunity and step up to help with other projects.
I got tired of the politics game and trying to be on the inside circles. There are others lines of business where you can grow your career with less stress (even within Wells Fargo). When I got out of the branch moving to Wealth Management it was a breath of fresh air.
Every year we advance further into the 21st century, the average IQ of customers who still need to frequent physical bank locations for their banking drops more. Agree anyone who has to deal with these awful laggards should be eyeing an escape from them.
Any way to segue into the brokerage side? A Client Associate or licensed personal banker opening. Let them sponsor you to get FINRA licensed and then take it from there.
