Are Managets of PMs going to be impacted?

I heard that during the Leader Check-in after the Earnings call, Maria specifically called out PM Leaders of other PMs as an example of who would be impacted. Anyone else hear that?

@3khg+1k1MCdM Someone needs to do the PM role but I haven’t seen PMs do it well

If you think PMs are useless......good luck steering your project yourself while also doing your regular day job. When I was there, I lost count of the number of managers and architects that stated they could "do the PM role"......and then fail miserably at it.

I work on project with another dude, and we have a project manager who sends out emails, ppt slides and excel spreadsheets. PMs are a scam and the most useless job role in Cisco. Glad V2momma got wind of it.

It’s a relationship based company, and only 5% will be impacted. So it will be spread out on various titles, mostly on the old timers as the people who valued the old timers’ contribution already left.

Yes I specifically remember her saying that on the leader call about Program Managers being reduced. I also have noted that they also called out “overlapping roles” which I took to mean maybe sales specialists? But I wonder if she means company wide or just her org….
