Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Any young person with any skill, education or self respect that is stupid enough to hire on with AT&T

…what can you say. No future. Very sad situation.

White people need union to protect their laziness. Blame other when the protection is not enough.

Says the worker too lazy to expand his skills is angry because his skills are outdated and not needed anymore.

It’s a job. Treat it as such and you’ll sleep better and worry less. Too many people made it a “career” and put too much emotional capital in their roles. My career advice, do your job, go home. Don’t get emotionally involved. It’s just a paycheck. Good to have on your resume. Yes there are a lot of bs things that happen, crusty people on power trips that make everyone’s job harder than it needs to be, egos to deal with, and the head scratching leadership promotion track. It’s not a career, if that’s a thing anymore, maybe for the folks that have pension plans but that’s not been available to anyone hired after 2014. Other companies are way way worse, btw. Everyone I know that left, wants to come back.

Could just be someone looking to get their first corporate experience. No harm in that. Just don't stay too long. Stay here too long and you will lose skills and not be attractive to other employers.

I can answer this Pat.
Large stock of brown & black loafers that no-other shoe store wants. Huge inventory.

I can't with good conscious recommend this shithole of a company to anyone, and certainly not a young person with a good education and skill set. What will most likely happen is they'll end up working for some burned out middle-aged person in an AD technology position who has no further education or training than a bachelor's degree in History, English, Sociology, or Art leading a technology team where they understand nothing but kiss a-s on everything.
Or they will end up working for some young, idealistic, ultra-woke person who can't manage a lemonade stand, much less a technology team, because they don't have a technology background, but they have family connections within AT&T. Can you say Nepotism?
This is the AT&T way. Nepotism and Cronyism is alive and well here at T.

I'm still at at&t and don't know 1 black that can do the job. Not 1! They walk slow, don't work, not sure they can learn, have a list of excuses and pull out the racist card for their problems.

@whd+1k1ghd1W like white guys need experts from Indians to do white guys work when it comes to programming. Then take credit for Indian skills. History books has shown us it is the white guys method of operation. Always stealing credit of women and blacks and then blaming women and blacks if things don't work out.

T is a great place for experience…but holds no path for long term , reliable employment.

t needs young white male educated employees to do the work for the young black female and WoKe.
When I was at the t, I was doing the work for 8 members of a 13% group whose only skill was "skin tone".

Resume booster and that’s it. Employment should not exceed 5yrs. No long term future left for T.
