I so much appreciate the connect weeks as I've connected once again with another cold or flu virus. I realize this is not just a Fidelity thing that a lot of companies are having workers return to office on some basis but it's amazing how when working from home I never got sick and now that I am back in the office more I have been sick several times this year. This will slow my performance down for a week or so as I build up my energy levels. Worth it Fidelity!

@10y+1k1jkqtwq Seriously turn off CNN and MSNBC. Kids are not the enemy. Get out there and live your life, explore and grow. Or stay inside and leave the rest of us alone. (I was never “injected “ and I haven’t been sick the past few years and have great RTO attendance so.)
@10y youre probably one of those loons i still see wearing a mask in their car even when they are by themselves. You dont think youre exposed to people who have kids in daycare outside of rto weeks? Do you live in a plastic bubble? That is the most absurd thing I've read on this board and that's saying something.
I hate it, I go to work with people who have children in daycare so I get all kinds of sickness I wouldn’t be exposed to in my normal life. I’ve used a big chunk of my PTO this year on daycare illnesses. The other part has been mental health days because I need a break from being micromanaged
@qm no, but probably everywhere
People are still wearing masks.
They are science deniers. Masks don't work!!!!
@pz Let me guess- the JAX site
Every morning in office there is a ton of repetitive coughing and sneezing from all over, but especially this one person. Stay home. Even if “allergies” it’s blowing germs all over. But it’s loud and constant. Probably a habit. But incredibly annoying, even when trying to block it out with noise cancelling over the ear headphones.
WFH ftw.
One of the best decisions I’ve made in my life was to remain uninjected - myself and my family. So many family members and friends with serious side effects and vax injuries, it’s so sad. Those people constantly getting sick. SO THANKFUL Fido never mandated the injection!!!!
@f2 I'm one of the uninjectabled.
Had COVID exactly once. Been around lots of people sick with COVID, and have never caught it again. Lots of people I know who got repeat injectables have caught COVID over and over and over again.
Tested positive for Covid, thought we were done with that but apparently current variant very contagious so not only did I catch it but how many other co-workers became infected? Flu's and viruses cost companies millions per year so it makes sense to keep mandates of RTO.
The only people getting sick over and over and over again are those who got the special injectable. Those who got the follow up injectables have it worse.
The uninjectabled aren’t getting sick.
@ca, if Employee Relations do all day is to talk with employees privately on sensitive topics, it make sense for them to conduct their business at private home. The comfort of home is just a side effect. I'm sure you don't want to trade that comfort with you higher salary. So folks, stopping whining about RTO. Accept it and make a wish that it won't increase in length.
Are people aware that Employee Relations are 100% WFH? Isn't that a little odd for those putting the return to office rules in place and monitoring the rest of us? All of HR should be in the office 100% of the time to actually see the people. The people are the reason they have a job after all, right?
Those are also so fun because then your manager will start nagging that getting sick is a trend.
@af the classic anonymous internet tough guy—attacking women, age, weight, and s-x life in one post. Impressive how much insecurity fits in a single sentence.
If health is your top priority, you should consider staying home permanently!
If people just stayed home when sick it would be fine, but because rule followers don't want to show up on reports and get flagged they are coming in sick. Week before my trip to the Bahamas was my connect week and sure enough I was sick for my whole trip. I don't come into the office when sick because I don't want to expose others who may have vulnerable family members at home. Please be considerate of others.
It'll build up you immune system in the long run. So, good for you, Fidelity and society. Win, win win
