Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

At least we know why we did the survey…

The whole point of having us do the survey was to allow Stankey to ba-f out this diatribe. You don’t like our culture, you see through the lies about RTO, it’s your fault and you should get out. The arrogance of this is amazing but not at all surprising.

At least we now know 100% that that the goal from the beginning was to get rid of people. He’s trying to be like Jassy or Zuckerberg but instead he sounds like an old man sending back soup at a deli.

And it’s funny but also not surprising that he would dump this on a Friday in August like an NBA owner announcing a 20% hike in ticket prices.

"I still would like to understand what is this culture he’s trying to build."

Stank is trying to change a culture of innovation and hard work into an assembly line like culture where the doers are plug and play, and the innovation is generated by AI.

“ Brings to mind an old saying, “I am not a gynecologist but I know c u n t when I see one”.”

Likewise… I might not be a proctologist, but I know an @$$ when I see one.

I still would like to understand what is this culture he’s trying to build. Seems to me they just want us in an unnecessary office for 8 hours per day and that’s it. Flat orgs, no incentives to do better, no opportunities, and a disdain for the “most valuable resource” the people working here. Sounds like they want clock punchers here to do their 40 and get a check. You don’t grow or innovate that way, you as a company become redundant, a necessary evil, a dreaded place to work, and irrelevant. Maybe he needs to understand his quotes better. Happy workers = higher profits, but I guess he missed that day at MBA school.

His email is exactly why I am quitting in place. The lies and their justifications for RTO are ridiculous. Stank was one of the main players involved in all of ATT’s bad or failed deals of recent memory. For him to call himself a leader is laughable. I will do the minimum to stay employed and that is it because we are just a number to them.

what was noticeably missing from his email were the ACTUAL results from the survey :-).

It was all spin / BS doubling down on the RTO bullsh-t. I would love to see the actual results, but I have a better chance of winning the lottery.

Typical AT&T - we made a bad decision, but fu-k it - we will plow ahead anyway.

"it’s funny but also not surprising that he would dump this on a Friday"

That was my first thought before I even read the email. I guess he is taking his management queues from "Office Space".

Exactly. Leadership in this company are a bunch of tone deaf baffons. Brings to mind an old saying, “I am not a gynecologist but I know c u n t when I see one”.
