Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

I will never take another survey again....

for as long as I am here, which, let's face it, may not be that long.

But I am a 20+ year tenure person, have managed many people, and have in turn urged them to take these in the past, as we were told to do.

Never, ever, again. Even though it felt good to lambaste leadership in this one, and his clear ire at the results brings me joy....I know the only thing that would make him angrier is super low participation.

And I think given this debacle, there are a lot of folks that have the same mindset as me.

Never again.

When your manager asks why you didn't take the survey, all you have to do is reply with this:

"we analyze patterns of behaviors from broad cohorts (aggregated data). This allows leaders to identify behaviors that are obvious outliers, supplemented with the broadest set of information available, to determine if the behavior being evaluated is consistent with our stated priorities and employment expectations."

And then say "if I can't answer honestly, then I'm not going to answer at all."

You are upset because things didn't go your way.

Correct. That was the last survey I will ever do. When my mgr asks me why. I will always reference this email which I have saved on my desktop as the reason. I hope participation plummets to below 50% and they have to invalidate the whole thing.

"I will never take another survey again"

I disregard all emails not directly related to my individual employment, except when coworkers tell me our CEO self-identified as a possible future hostile intruder.

Refusing to take the survey is the equivalent of standing up and turning your back to him during a town hall. Except in the former you get to keep your job.

“ You know your comments pi---d him off based on his rambling email.“

OP here. Yes I acknowledge that.

Can you imagine if less than 50% of the employees participated though? I’d argue that this would pi$$ him off way more.

What was the target participation?

The problem is your manager will hound you to take it. The surveys aren’t anonymous and they track participation down to the employee. Your manager even gets comments. Best thing to do is just take it and click the highest rating with no comments and move on with your day.

You know your comments pi---d him off based on his rambling email. That’s enough reason to take EVERY survey!
