Dell Technologies Layoffs Hit Sales, ‘New Logo’ Acquisitions Team

“The (new logo) acquisitions organization at Dell pretty much no longer exists. A small percentage of reps were repurposed to other places in the organization. And the rest were let go. It was across the whole country. From the Northeast team to California, central, everybody in between.”

Phew... i like the original Dell logo. There is no need to change it. Can't believe they had an entire team to simply come up with a new one. Good riddance and good job JC at trimming such wasteful costs.

the jist:

  • Dell is laying off members of its "new logo" acquisitions team and additional sales roles
  • The acquisitions team focused on bringing in clients who hadn't worked with Dell in the last 3 years
  • The team had around 150 sales employees; the number laid off is undisclosed but the team is reportedly dismantled
  • Some team members were reassigned, but many lost their jobs
  • The layoffs are believed to be tied to Dell’s recent AI-focused restructuring and shift toward more specialized sales roles

Pi---d off...

  • Dell’s employee net promoter score (eNPS) fell to 32 in 2025, down from 48 in 2024 and 63 the year before
  • The company cut 10% of its workforce in FY2025, following a similar reduction the year prior

Also...

  • Employees are also discontent with Dell’s return-to-office (RTO) policies
  • Dell moved from hybrid to enforcing a 3-day in-office rule, with threats of withheld promotions for non-compliance
  • Despite the policy, many employees are reluctant to return full-time
  • The combination of layoffs, RTO demands, and aggressive AI investments has contributed to declining morale across Dell’s workforce

I'm in Acquisition. While a lot of people were let go, it's simply not true that a small percentage of people were repurposed. California got hit particularly hard, because they way over hired there, but some other regions had about 1/2 of the AEs let go. Most of the ISRs kept their jobs, more than half of the the PAMs, most of the WSG people stayed. My point is "small percentage" isn't accurate.
