Thread regarding Fidelity Investments layoffs

Fidelity is Not American Company

I’ve worked in my tech area for a few years and it is now probably time to leave.

Americans don’t get promoted in this company.

On the macro side, in the capitalist society we're living in, Fidelity is run by a benevolent capitalist, evident by the many folks' passive journey to multi-millionaire-ship. We must give it to Abby for that.

On the micro side, what OP points out, the over-representation and seizure of opportunities by one group in tech, we must be cleared-eyed about.

Wage slaves, whether you are beef-fed or veggie-only you are both slaves to the capitalist class.

And no, you little middle manager with the fancy title of "director" or "VP," you are not a member of the capitalist class: you are a wage slave, because you depend on a paycheck to live regardless of that paycheck's size.

Fidelity is a playground for its capitalist owners: the Boston Brahim Johnson family and the tiny group of ultra high level executives who own a part of the company along with the Johnsons. (and no, the fake "chairman shares" are not actually shares and you do not own any part of Fidelity with that).

The capitalist class does not care about this being an "American company" or "Irish company" or whatever. They care about it being a profitable zone of exploration and wealth generation for them.

So always be clear-eyed about the real opponent: the capitalist class.

No need for ICE. Fidelity has every power to limit its use of H1-Bs. Question is does it care and have the will.

I hope ICE will soon start going after the fake H1B’s.
