So, we have to use our cell phone on the floor for beauty, fine jewelry,and other associates. Sales floor App! Belk doesn't pay for that use nor is it in a contract with the associates. They dont compensate you for cell phone use that makes them money. But you get in trouble if you don't use it or actively using it? There has to be a law against this.

My coworker was told if they didn't download the sales floor app that they would be moved to another dept.
Just say no, you id--t. There is no lawsuit in the world you could bring for wrongful termination that they could ever win.
Not to mention the 10 apps I have installed on my phone that is strictly for Belk. They take up half of my storage space in my phone.
Ask them to show it to you in writing that it is a requirement
I always had this question! Management and co-workers responded like I made a fuss over nothing. But it absolutely a matter of principle! Now customers are trying to reach and either point at the screen or even grab it from my hands. I have to pull my phone away, saying: “Ma’am, this is my phone, it will be more convenient for you to see this page on your phone.”
Nope. I won't be bringing mine in.
You can write that off on your taxes.
