Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

T Guarantee

The AT&T guarantee is the d-mbest idea I’ve ever seen, if you can’t guarantee anything to employees, why are you trying to make guarantees to the customers?

Very bold to be offering guarantees. I didn't know Stankey had it in him.

i’m waiting for Starlink to be more affordable and by then Elon will have a phone that will blow away the competition. I get these At&t guarantee emails and file them where they belong. In my trash folder. There are no guarantees. They dont fix the dead spots. Coverage su-ks and then they throttle the sh-t out of the two accounts i have. I’d leave T but Verizon and TMobile arent any better. Pricy for now but Starlink is coming!

The guarantee is the d-mbest idea I’ve seen here. Whoever initiated and signed off on this should be terminated immediately. This will cost millions or billions in design changes just to avoid potential payouts that may never come.

This is not innovative. Talk about a sinking ship…

“ employment decisions are predominantly market-driven, emphasizing business needs”

The road goes both ways, people need to remember that. If I’m being market driven, that means I’m maximizing my revenue per hour worked, if I’m not compensated for my extra work (bonuses, extra pay, promotions) then I’m going to work the bare minimum and deliver the bare minimum output and quality, keeping my big ideas and innovation for my own purposes. My goal is to maximize my profit. I’m going to always be looking for the next better opportunity (aka new employer). No loyalty to me, you get none in return, I’m here for the money, nothing more, nothing less. You can keep your culture, mine is pure $$$. Be market driven. Don’t work extra if you aren’t getting paid. Don’t go above and beyond if you aren’t getting paid. No, that promotion you think you might get is a mirage. Ask anyone that’s been here a while. Make your money, go home. 5x8 it can wait.

We guarantee that we are fully staffed with 3 Indian coders for every line of working code delivered. (1 ok coder, 1 new coder from the scamming IRS call center, and 1 coder that is billed at top dollar but does not exist). That’s what ai call winning at T.

We do...we are guaranteed that each work day will be a little worse than the day before.

The only assurances provided to us as employees seem to be those that negatively impact our professional and personal lives. These include frequent layoffs, widespread outsourcing, and employment policies that appear unfavorable, particularly for those who are not among the company's preferred employees or are located outside of central hub locations. In such cases, employment often requires relocation or extended separation from one’s family, creating additional hardships.

It appears that the company has fulfilled all of these commitments, effectively delivering on the difficult and challenging conditions they have outlined. Furthermore, they have made it clear that employment decisions are predominantly market-driven, emphasizing business needs over employee well-being or job security.

Looks like they have atleast for employees.
