Flawed Strategies

I find it very interesting that corporate America continues to pay executives for flawed strategies and who places the blame on execution. The traditional retail strategies has ki---d and continues to ki-l this industry. We are not traditional retail but we continue to hear how we compare to the KPIs of traditional retail. The question off all questions, why are we trying to be like an industry that is struggling itself? What is sad, we had the opportunity to be so much more. However, now, we are just irrelevant and keep pushing ourselves into extinction. Sorry to say, more and more campuses no longer see us as the solution to their needs. To remain viable, you need account managers with the ability to operate as needed, not retail mangers with their hands tied managing to scorecards operating your stores.

What happens when all the store managers get sick from being on the registers due to a lack of staff? Students come into the colleges sick all the time. How exactly is coverage going to work for that?

They can't help themselves because they've hired people who failed in their perspective industries. We have knuckleheads from CVS, Macy's, Kmart, Sears. Nobody is from higher education or has an inkling of what it takes to foster and build relationships! They are treating us like a generic store. We are an educational institution. What we provide or don't provide can actually influence or inhibit a student's growth. If we don't provide it, they're going to find it somewhere else aka Amazon, Chegg, BN.
