A Clear Future: Remote Work is How We Win

Team,

As we move forward, it’s important we’re honest about what’s working, and what isn’t. We’ve tested, we’ve measured, and the facts are undeniable: remote work is where AT&T thrives.
• Our productivity data shows that employees working remotely deliver more focused hours, with fewer wasted commutes and less burnout.
• Customer satisfaction scores during the remote period hit some of the highest levels in recent history.
• Employee retention is stronger when we allow flexibility—forcing office attendance has proven to drive talent out the door, often straight into the arms of competitors.

This company has survived and grown by adapting. That’s exactly what remote work represents: a modern, sustainable model that values output over presence, results over badge swipes.

Let me be clear: if being in a cubicle is what motivates you, great—offices will remain available. But if you deliver for our customers from home, there’s no reason to chain you to a hub. The office should be a resource, not a leash.

We will continue to hold each other accountable for performance, engagement, and collaboration. What we won’t do is waste talent, time, and energy by pretending the future looks like 1995.

So here’s the choice:
• Adapt with us into a smarter, more flexible, truly future-ready company.
• Or cling to old models of control and presenteeism, and watch our best talent leave.

I know where I stand. I stand for results, respect, and remote.

Let’s build that future—together.

“ Did you not hear Stankey at the ERG conference when he stated that stakeholders are pointing out that our competitors are doing more with less employees?”

Bingo! At least he’s showing his true self & goal (albeit to further line his pockets).

This company isn’t trying to win. It’s trying to shed 30k US based jobs. Did you not hear Stankey at the ERG conference when he stated that stakeholders are pointing out that our competitors are doing more with less employees? He pretty much said the quiet part out loud, you just need to listen and you will understand the “why”

Have you not been paying any attention for the last year or so, or?

Who are your demands addressed to exactly?

OP still doesn't get it. They want to make your life miserable, so you quit and they don't have to pay severance. Once you understand that, it all makes sense.

“Remote work is how I get more tennis in.”

I’m willing to bet you’re far more into ‘pocket pool’.

Remote is what I use to binge watch Netflix when I’m WFH

OP -- You forgot that Stankey's only intention, like in his other jobs, is to reduce head count to a level he finds acceptable. He has proven over and over, that he is not strategic in his thinking. Most of the major decisions that he has been a part of, or been the captain of, have been overturned. He has never proven his ability to grow a company. He only knows how to affect the expense side of the income statement.
