Firing someone is not the same as laying them off. We know for fact Fidelity does layoffs, saw it last year.
Showing up here only to complain about hearing rumors seems a bit misplaced. This is a rumor site - some of it pans out, some of it doesn’t. That’s just how it goes. Take it with a grain of salt, or if that’s not your thing, maybe just skip it.
