While other banks may have layoffs, Synovus will stand strong financially into 2023.
Sorry to hear of recent layoffs of team members. I hope those impacted will find work soon. Did they say why or what the layoff was based on? Assuming from the post, it was a specific area/dept?

I was laid off this morning. Supposed to be on PTO, but now I will be anxiously applying for jobs. Several of my coworkers hit with this too. 7 years of loyalty for nothing. Taking my money to a better bank that does not lay their employees off days before Christmas.

Also Synovus just named Blair as Chairman after Kessel stepped down. I hope this is not a sign of the times.

If you were an insider, you would know that the institution is far from stable. Fact is, layoffs were paused due to a current negotiation with a Florida company.
