Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

People are bailing out

I have looked up quite a few of the old timers only to find many no longer in the email system. Granted, most of them were never particularly good at their jobs as is true of the large majority of people everywhere. However, they did know how to work the stupidly complex system at AT&T and any new folks who have to do their work are going to be shocked by how ridiculous everything is, especially finance. Finance at AT&T has basically destroyed our abilities to get much of anything done in a timely manner. If AT&T didn't have licenses to protect our business, we would have gone under long ago. The fact that Verizon and T-Mo both suck so badly gives customers basically nowhere else to go.

The sbc deekzucking scabs are always gonna hate on Union benefits.

I'm a Legacy T union employee with 4 decades of service and have seen more goings on in this company than you can ever imagine! I would like nothing more than what you're dreaming here with your fictitious offer of 5-5 and 5, but it's never gonna happen! Stop spreading false lies and blowing sunshine up bargained for personnel's a$$es! I would be the first to jump on the offer if it was in-fact true, but you must be going to be and waking up thinking about this nonsense. You're just torturing yourself...have at it, Jack!

Doesn’t matter if it’s ATT, sbc or gonorrhea…the books gotta balance or C suite heads roll. Therefore, a 5-5-$5k offer ie on the way. Book it! And that’s a fact, JACK!

VRIP, did somebody say VRIP? Dream on little boy! This is SBC you're talking about and not the once compassionate and generous AT&T! Only AT&T gave offers you're dreaming of! You'll never see this kind of offer from SBC cuz it's not their M.O.! They don't care about their employees and they've made that quite obvious with the benefits reductions!
Wake up and smell the newly laid fiber!

Ain’t no way in h-e-l-l Craft is ever getting 5-5-5k$. If you’re in craft thinking this, you delusional. Quit spreading this lunacy nonsense. If they want to layoff techs, they will lay them off with a standard package. We have too many core techs with at least 20 years of experience. And the 30yr + will just leave on their own or medical themselves out of a job…. Sorry, it’s just the truth.

Some old timers I know aren’t impacted by the pension changes, so they are staying put. I’ve seen some retire that were incredible at their jobs and will be greatly missed. Some that were more roadblocks to get anything done (glad they left). I was in a town hall the other day and the VP said that instead of dumping the work on everyone else that are already over taxed, we will just no longer provide those services to the company. Happy to hear that. Let’s see if that holds true. Every once in a while we get a good boss. More the exceptions than the rule.

Stankey is turning this ship around. Just needs to cut some dead weight to free up some cash flow.

Everyone I know preparing to resign or retire. Too many let go or permitted to walk out the door leaving the rest of us with an insane amount of work that cannot get completed. Lack of leadership accountability and toxic environment. No option but to leave if you want to maintain some level of sanity and overall health. After 30+ years T finally broke our spirit.

Your post is all over the place. But your main point seems to be that everyone and everything sucks ... except you? What a sad place to live. Maybe consider therapy.

So full of shét. Literally ALL of the so called “old timers” in craft are sitting back, smiling and waiting on that buyout offer in March 2023. Everybody knows that T is hamstrung. Got to cut costs and 5-5-$5k enhancement is inevitable.
