Thread regarding Belk layoffs

Merchandise Planners leaving by the day

Every single day I hear of more people from corporate that are leaving the company. Primarily Planning positions. I am certainly not overlooking this. Think there will be a ton within the next 2 months. All the commuters will be done the first of the year too. Good luck to everyone

@sx I disagree.
I was one of those who left...most of us ONLY worked for Belk bc it was remote. No one enjoyed the company, haha. They had issues retaining planners pre-covid (there were referral bonuses of 5k in 2019) bc the entire planning org is and has always been a mess and massively overworked. Most of us stayed bc it was remote

Overwhelming majority are leaving due to return to office, not because they're unhappy with Belk. A lot of planners were recruited to Belk outside of thr Charlotte area and chose not to make the move.

@ec mens is no surprise...GVP and VPs in MHK are possibly the worst in the company. Force out talent in favor of those who su-k up and follow the company direction no matter what.
Favoritism and nepotism gets you places at Belk
