Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

No more extra work from me

I'm a go-getter, I love my job and I know I do it well. What I don't love is the pressure from senior management to work late nights and weekends. It's time they learned a lesson: you can't expect people to put in extra hours when they aren't rewarded for it.

I've tried explaining this many times, but they just don't get it. So let me try again: It's not fair that you expect me to work all weekend when you aren't willing to give me extra vacation days or compensation for the extra effort that's costing me precious family time. I'm done doing more for less.

Just do what others are doing to play the game. You can do personal business during working hours and charge it to your program. Get the appropriate number of ot hours without stressing yourself out. Engineers have been doing it since ot became a metric for advancement. You've seen the guys talking for hours to pass the time and rack up ot hours to make themselves look good. I've seen guys watch movies on their phones. It's not ethical but is HW?

I worked with an engineer who refused anything over 45/week (and it made my boss crazy). Despite the threats, etc the engr still has a job.

I would tell my boss that i am cutting back.. but they are out on vacation for the rest of the year. Meanwhile their entire department has been told to work through holiday. Clearwater.

Yup. Done working OT for awhile now, and get the critical stuff done on time. Had also refused additional work assignment with the appropriate data for justification. All is well. Still a block 2
Just say no, as they expect most to just put up with it. Don't. It works out
Merry Christmas and enjoy the festive time with family ( not work)

@eye Honestly, if you want all directors and vp's replaced, expect they will be replaced with worse. Tell me one time that any director or VP or Pres or C level got replaced and the new one was better than the old one.

Honestly, if you want all directors and vp's replaced, everyone simply has to go home every day exactly at hour hours.

The company knows their employees don't have the ba11s to do it, much lesd form a union that would.

I have also cut back on hours. I still give a solid 40 but that is about it.

Just not seeing an upside for me. Getting managers bonuses is not one if my annual goals.

Threaten with a RIF? That isn't a threat for me but rather a hope. I volunteered for one. They should accept it
