Yep I'm in the Baltimore/Washington /Philly area. And we were told in the first week of January 2023 there will another call held don't know what's coming just on high alert

But from what I seen we are taking the coke a cola structure. No sales reps just order writers and merchandisers
The Andy Hill I think is his name plan. Only 2 weeks away so ......we will 👀 👀 👀

Curious . How old are you. Will this be early retirement. If I get package I will be 61. As far as full benefits. Ins and pension. Anything else. Not being nosey. Just trying to learn. By keeping you until Jan you should pro as well

No, my last day is in January. Having been with company & surviving all the past, “changes/merges,” thru the decades, is surreal. Stop to think about it, better go out this way than just “retiring,” as I get a “severance package,” & I’m fully eligible for all retirement benefits, I have nothing more to gain on that front.

Those saying, “you have to not care anymore,” are right, sadly all the old schoolers, have to be deprogrammed to do so(lol)

I also agree, once eliminate all SR’s/SA’s, they will cut routes down again & FTOW will run them (or exit DSD and just have a handful of SR’s with like 50-75 stores they visit in a months time to insure “whatever.” ) It’s exactly how all companies have evolved to basically pays an unsustainable living wage in this particular industry. When I was hired, you had to have a college degree in “something,” now, nothing but be breathing, I guess.

If you read other posts, I believe I read the Baltimore/Wash area mentioned something about another “phone call,” first of year, maybe I misunderstood, but I do recall in our initial “regional” call alerting us on the release of Mission 1, beginning of 2023, they mentioned the next changes to be reveled in April of 2023. Whatever the case, no doubt the goal is to rid the current expenses of the current SR structure. It could also be, the company takes out the DSD part & goes into the warehouses of all accounts, yet FTOW still writes order & SSRs still throw delivery, which comes off the account’s truck. There are companies which do this. Keep in mind Kroger bought Safeway & that means loss of a lot of major chain stores across nation, when & if this purchase is approved.

@kyf+1k9zwZvd-you are spot on!!!

I've been saying this for months. The company is getting rid of sales reps. Getting rid of their dedicated, tenured employees, all so they can get rid of their car, rid of their salary, rid of their bonus program, rid of their vacation, rid of any anything associated with current sales reps. Then the company expects low paid, underpaid, no perks employees to have the dedication, skills, and commitment of the employees they are screwing over for 1/2 the pay.

It's NOT GOING TO HAPPEN!!!

You get what you pay for.

So down the line they'll start over. They'll hire sales reps in at sh-t wages, with pathetic benefits, and no company cars. But, it will still be more than the FTOW are getting, so it will "seem" like it's better.

This is exactly how corporate America fazes out higher paid employees, and brings wages down.

Well guess what, they'll also get a lot lower quality employee.

You'll never get "this" for "that!"

Don’t let this company, at this level, dictate your life. If you want to move up in the company, kudos go for it, it’s not a bad company in regards to moving up! However, staying at the bottom of the retail division doesn’t seem to paint a bright fun environment w/work & life balance being what it used to be. Seems you’d need to move up to national account manager, to have some longevity afforded or into other parts of the company, which is directly affected by any “DSD” changes.

Nope, not an RMS or DM, but rather a SR who is being shown the door.(laid off) Difference in “my door,” it opens into retirement after 3+ decades with company. I’m just being realistic in advising how to work smarter not harder, going forward. I mean if you can, ride it out while applying elsewhere, do so! It’s not going to get better for the “SR” in terms of job security! Regions already been doing “Mission 1,” apparently have another “phone call” first week of the new year, to address additional changes occurring by end of Q1 for them?(according to comments on this site?)That would be exactly 6 months after first wave. If true, my guess is, company plans on completing the progression of phasing out the “SR” all together, having hired & trained a slew of FTOW’s? Could it be, to then restructure routes again, with possibly of company saying, certain smaller accounts will be going to warehouse(or not)now? These timelines would in fact, ease the FTOW into learning to run a route, albeit, having no co. car, total diff. bonus structure, & for less pay….does that sounds like something a multibillion dollar company would do? I am completely snowballing here, I have no insight to any of the above being true. Not gaslighting, not trolling, just totally speculating a possible scenario.

You sound like a DM or RMS. Order to service? I'm throwing a majority of the deliveries now since the cases per hour bs. I'm only ordering what I want to throw if you are going to schedule me to throw 3 plus deliveries a day...

Advice: “order to service,” that’s it, in accounts where you can do this. I realize some stores have to order more do to areas & limited delivery. Still, you should know the store’s buy trend, just order the bare, know what the SSR will focus on to throw on their day. Ad product, should be in displays, let them use that as BS too. Walmarts are diff. animal, but still, can have all the BS in world, but if not enough service time to get it out then why load them up, shoppers can’t shop the BS! Store doesn’t stock it either….yet!
I say, “order to service.”

Work what you can and leave it for someone else.
That's what everyone does around here.

That's why I only order what I'm willing to throw, I don't care if we run out.
