Thread regarding Optum layoffs

Healthcare system being acquired by optum. What to expect?

The healthcare system I’m working for is being acquired by optum. All of IT is moving. What should I expect? Are they going to lay us off after the integration? Are they going to outsource jobs to India?

I've worked through many acquisitions and I will say Optum typically wants to keep the acquired resources where there are. If you are good at your job, they will definitely keep you.

You can be certain your job status will change. Whether outsourcing or layoffs really depends on what you do. But this company doesn’t care about US workers, their focus is short term profits!

The integration will be painful. They won't communicate. Your benefits will decline. Reduction in force will occur.

The list goes on.

They bought for the business model, not the employees.

Yes layoffs and closures. Ive seen employees from Diplomat Pharmacy and Change Healthcare cut. Usually takes 6 months or so for them to figure out what buildings and employees they dont need.
